The IC695CPU320 is a PACSystems RX3i CPU that is manufactured by GE Fanuc Emerson. This device can be used to communicate with the programmer and HMI devices via a serial port using SNP Slave Protocol. The CPU contains 64 Megabytes of battery-backed user memory and 64 Megabytes of non-volatile flash user memory. Features for the IC695CPU320 include the ability to provide access to bulk memory via reference table %W, configurable data and program memory, and support of programming languages like Ladder Diagram, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram, and C. This IC695CPU320 module supports most Series 90-30 modules and expansion racks and also supports up to 512 program blocks (with a maximum block size of 128 Kilobytes). CPU firmware is able to be upgraded and the hardware has two serial ports, the RS-485 and RS-232.

The IC693CPU320 processor module can communicate with both an HMI and a programmer. It does so by utilizing the serial port with SNP Slave protocol. Using the dual backplane bus, this module is able to communicate with the smart modules and other connected I/O devices. It comes with support for both RX3i backplane BUS, and a serial backplane BUS. For displaying the status updates, this module comes with six( 6) separate LEDs located on its front panel.

When installing the IC693CPU320, use a type 1 or IP20 type enclosure to protect against the live electrical elements of the unit. The CPU should also be installed in a location that is away from other units that generate significant amounts of heat and electrical noise. As an RX3i CPU, the unit features hot standby (HSB) CPU redundancy. This allows for critical applications or processes to continue operating if a failure occurs in any single component. A redundancy system is made up of an active unit that controls the process and a backup unit that is synchronized with the active unit and can continue the process if necessary. The IC693CPU320 features eight LED indicator lights to show the operating status of the unit and its components.
