The IC693CBL312 is an expansion cable for the I/O bus. For the GE Fanuc 90-30 systems, the cable is a pre-wired Wye bus expansion cable. The length of the cable is 0.5 feet (0.15 meters) long. The bus expansion is a continuous shield cable because it is from the I/O expansion cable series. The cables contain two ends. On one side, it has a connector with a depth of 25-PIN, while another end has two-headed connectors. One is a male connector while another is a female connector, thus a dual double-headed connector with a depth of 25-Pins each. The major job of this cable is to link the CPU baseplates with the I/O expansions. Besides that, this bus expansion cable also helps connect the remote base plates in daisy chain setups. Users can also replace the cable with some of the other cable models in the same series. Some of which include a 3-ft IC693CBL300 cable, a 6-ft IC693CBL301 cable, the 25-ft IC693CBL313 cable, or the 50-ft IC693CBL302 cable. Users can use up to seven cables while configuring the cable to the other system. But, the total size of the wire linking the CPU base plate to the I/O extension in the system cannot exceed 50 feet (15 meters). It is worth noting that the system's cords must be connected for the quick configuration of the cable to the system. Another precaution would be that users must connect the single male connector to the CPU baseplate's 25-pin female connector first.
