The IC693MDL654 is a 5/12 Volt DC Positive/Negative Logic Input Module designed for the Series 90-30 of PLCs. The module can provide thirty-two (32) discrete TTL voltage threshold input points in four (4) different groups, each of these four groups have all the four points labeled as A1 to A8, B1 to B8, C1 to C8, and D1 to D8. The input points work in line to 15 Volts with positive or negative logic input. The +5 Volt supply is generated on the module and is separated from the backplane of the PLC. Users can choose to power the inputs from the internal supply rather than providing power from the external user issued power supply. This can be done by setting up jumpers on the right pins on the I/O connector. If this internal supply is used for powering the inputs, more load is put on the +5 Volt power supply of the PLC. The optocouplers on the IC693MDL654 module supports and provides backplane isolation of 1500 Volts between the logic side and field side and 250 Volts between the four (4) groups of inputs. Moreover, there are no-fault diagnostics noted on the power supply. The module requires a power of 195 milliamperes from the +5 Volt bus on the backplane.

The LED indicators on the module are listed as A1 to A8, B1 to B8, C1 to C8, and D1 to D8 and are available at the top of the module. These indicators provide the ON/OFF status of each of the inputs. The input current is 3 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC and 8.5 milliamperes current at 12 Volts DC. The 32-point input design of the module uses 32 bits of discrete %I data. It can be placed on the I/O port on a 5-slot or 10-slot backplate in PLC Series 90-30 systems. Within the input status table, the current from the input point provides logic 1. The IC693MDL654 module has a rated voltage of 5 to 12 Volts DC positive or negative logic. The Input Voltage of the module ranges from zero (0) to 15 Volts DC - links to the input circuit are generated from input devices of the user to two male 24-pin connectors laced on the front of the module.
