The GE Fanuc Emerson IC697ALG230 is a base converter module that can be employed for Series 90-70 PLCs. This module provides eight (8) differential input channels with a resolution of 16 which have individually user scaling and an expansion port. The IC697ALG230 offers a fast update rate of 2.4 milliseconds to 2.8 milliseconds. The IC697ALG230 converts analog to digital signals which are presented as 2’s complement to the CPU. The IC697ALG230 inputs can be programmed for either current or voltage input ranges: from 4 milliamperes to 20 milliamperes or from -10 Volts DC to 10 Volts DC. This module draws a current of 0.8 Amperes at a voltage of 5 Volts DC. The IC697ALG230 has two (2) LED indicators to show the power and module status. The IC697ALG230 can be programmed and configured with either MS-DOS or Windows. The IC697ALG230 supports either unipolar or bipolar analog inputs with 10 Volts full scale.

The IC697ALG230 employs the backplane optical isolation offered by optocouplers to provide electrical isolation and to prevent steady-state and transient overvoltage cases. The IC697ALG230 inputs can be individually scaled by the user by converting engineering unit values into either milliamperes or millivolts. The IC697ALG230 can be easily mounted on either an expansion or CPU rack and connected using faceplate screw terminals which are located on the 40 terminal block connector. The IC697ALG230 doesn’t require DIP switches or jumpers to be programmed and configured. It weighs approximately 610 grams (1.34 pounds) while shipping and operates at zero (0) to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for industrial applications.
