The GE Fanuc IC200BEM103 should be installed by placing this module in the same section where all the communication carriers are placed. Users should not apply any sort of paint on this module. If they do, it can seriously hamper its ability for current conduction to the ground. While installing this module, users must ensure that the latch is unlocked. Users must align he communication connector. Once they are aligned, gently pressing them down will firmly ground them to the DIN rail. After the connection is successfully established, the latch must be switched to the unlock position. At the end of the installation, users need to connect the connector to the communication bus. The communication bus is situated on the front area of the network control module. 

Before, switching on power, users can remove the front cover, and install additional modules as per their requirement. As soon as the power is turned on, users will see the different LED buttons light up. All the LEDs indicate different functionalities. For safety, users are advised to read the user manual thoroughly, and follow the guidelines stipulated there. In the first step of configuration, users will be using a configuration software to connect this device to a PLC. In the second step, users will be using a programming software for establishing connection with a COMMREQ for network addressing and data lengths. 

The GE Fanuc IC200BEM103 is designed to be used as a master module on a DeviceNet network. However, it can operate as both a slave, and the master module at the same time. As far as data rate is concerned, it supports the transfer of 128 bytes of data.
