The IC200CPUE05 is a VersaMax CPU with an Embedded Ethernet Interface by GE Fanuc Emerson. It supports up to 64 modules with up to 2,048 I/O points and can be autoconfigured or manually configured using configuration software. The IC200CPUE05 has 64 Kilobytes of configurable memory for the application program, hardware configuration, registers, analog inputs, and analog outputs. This CPU supports programming languages such as Ladder Diagram and Instruction List. It uses non-volatile flash memory for program storage and uses battery backup for program, data, and time of day clock. It has a run/stop switch and supports floating point (real) data functions; the IC200CPUE05 also has embedded RS-232 and RS-485 Ethernet communications.

Specifications for the IC200CPUE05 include a size of 4.95 x 5.04 x 2.72 inches, or 126 x 128 x 69.1 millimeters. For program storage the CPU uses system flash and battery-backed RAM. The Boolean execution speed is 0.8 milliseconds/K (typical). It has a real-time clock accuracy of 100 ppm (0.01%) or +/- 9 seconds/day for timer functions. The IC200CPUE05 has an Ethernet data rate of 10 Megabytes per second (half or full duplex) and uses an RJ-45, UTP Ethernet port. It has 8 SRTP server connections and 32 Ethernet Global Data (EGD) configuration-based exchanges. For module installation, the manufacturer states that the IC200CPUE05 can be mounted on a DIN rail. If the installer decided to do this, it is important to note that if a vertical DIN rail is used, the module must be located at the bottom. It is recommended that a steel DIN rail in used.

The GE Fanuc IC200CPUE05 CPU Unit come equipped with two separate serial ports. These ports can be configured for either RTU, or the SNP slave. Furthermore, these serial ports can be configured for Local Station Manager operation, or serial I/O operation. Only port 1 must be used for local station manager operation. Users must install one automatic switch to the SNP slave, when both ports are being used for RTU. A port will return to the SNP slave, when this module is in stop mode. For this to happen, this module must be configured for a serial I/O module. The port 2 can be sued to offer power to any external device. However, the external power requirement must be within the range of 100 milliamperes, or less at 5 volts direct current. The port 1 on this module is RS-232. 

The GE Fanuc IC200CPUE05 CPU Unit comes equipped with one 9-pin female connector. The Port 1 can be forced by using the Ethernet restart button. However, for this to occur, the port 1 must be configured for use with the CPU. The Port 2 on this module is R3-485, which comes equipped with a D-sub connector with 15 pins. This port can be sued for programming, upgrading, and configuring this module. 

The GE Fanuc IC200CPUE05 CPU Unit comes with aa built-in Ethernet interface. Thanks to this interface, users can establish connection with a 10BaseT Network. It is compatible for both half, and dual duplex operations. Thanks to the built-in automatic sensing feature, no human input is required for the initial configuration step.
