The GE Fanuc Emerson IC200ERM001 is an expansion receiver module. This isolated module can handle eight (8) special-purpose and I/O devices. The device can interface a specific expansion rack to an I/O bus in either an NIU or a PLC system. The IC200ERM001 includes a power supply that is already installed to offer the operating electrical power for the expansion rack devices. This module employs the backplane optical isolation offered by optocouplers to provide electrical isolation of 500 volts DC. This device has three LED indicators to show the power, expansion bus, and rack status. The module draws a current of 430 milliamperes at a backplane voltage of 5 volts DC and 20 milliamperes at a backplane voltage of 3.3 volts DC.

The IC200ERM001 includes two female D-shell ports with 26 pins. The first port on the top supports the expansion transmitter cable. The second port on the bottom is employed either to daisy-chain the I/O bus cable to the expansion rack or to improve the terminator plug attachment on the last rack. This VersaMax module can be easily mounted on the DIN rail at the far left slot of the expansion rack. The device supports a cable length of either 250 meters (820 feet) with a data rate of 1 megabit per second or 50 meters (164 feet) with a data rate of 250 kilobits per second. The unit includes a rotary switch that is employed to access the module door. The IC200ERM001 weighs approximately 230 grams (0.5 pounds) while shipping and operates at 0 degrees to 60 degrees Celsius (32 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for industrial applications.
