The 1398-SR3AF shunt module is manufactured and designed by Allen Bradley. This device has a weight of around 1.5 kilograms and an ability to withstand shocks of up to 15 g. In addition to that, this active shunt device's humidity spans between the range of 5 percent to 90 percent of humidity. The function and operation of this module by Allen-Bradley vary depending on the degree of temperature. The higher the temperature that this module functions in, the less power performance it has. The change in performance is 5.5 watts for every 1 degree Celsius. The optimal range of temperature that this device should function in is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. Moreover, this external shunt unit is able to properly function without derating or facing such issues, even at a height of up to 5000 feet. This shunt module is an auxiliary component that may be inserted in any ULTRA 100 series device from Allen-Bradley. In order to be set up, this module requires a copper cable that contains a temperature rating of 75 degrees Celsius, 4-2.5 mm2, and the cable should be shielded. Furthermore, to increase safety while using this device, several precautions must be exercised. The user should make sure to have space for ventilation in an area of 5 centimeters, either above or underneath the 1398-SR3AF shunt module. This aids in securing the device from overheating and in that case, an eventual eruption of fire. Any materials near this device should be protected by metal covering due to this devices tendency to emit heat while functioning.
