Part number 2090-UXPC-D0903 is a 9-pin, high density, D-shell cable with a serial communication interface for connecting personal computers (PCs) to Allen Bradley’s Ultra drives. This device was designed and produced by the company known as Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. Designed with a straight cable to 45 degree bend, the 2090-UXPC-D0903 is fitted with DB9 female connectors on both ends. This cable type is designed for EIA/TIA 232 serial interface protocol for data connectivity. Each of the 9 pins has its own designation which include: Pin 1 – Data Carrier Detect input (DCD), Pin 2 – Receiver Data input (RCD), Pin 3 – Transmit Data output (TXD), Pin 4 – Data Terminal Ready output (DTR), Pin 5 – Signal Ground (GND), Pin 6 – Data Set Ready input (DSR), Pin 7 – Request to Send output (RTS), Pin 8 – Clear To Send input (CTS) and Pin 9 as Ring Indicator Input (RI). This cable is manufactured using an aluminum polyester material. This material covers 85 to 100 percent of the cable. The Allen Bradley 2090-UXPC-D0903 cable operates using the RS-232 protocol, which allows data to be transmitted in a unilateral direction on a single data line exploiting the asynchronous communication protocol. This product has a maximum standard slew rate of 30 volts per microsecond, a maximum bit rate of 20 kilobytes per second, and a line impedance that ranges from 3 to 7 ohms. This cable has a diameter of 6.43 millimeters with a minimum bend radius of 64 millimeters. this cable is compatible with Ultra 3000/5000 drives.
