The 20AD022A3AYNANC0 is a 480-Volt AC (3-phase) adjustable frequency drive (AFD) designed by Allen-Bradley and manufactured by Rockwell Automation. The voltage can be adjusted where necessary in order to optimise for use with single-phase applications. The Powerflex 70 series is extremely well known in the sector for offering economical and modest-sized drives which pack a performance punch for heavy applications. Furthermore, its open enclosure allows this drive to tolerate higher temperatures than its fully enclosed counterparts. This is a Frame D model with a panel-mounted NEMA enclosure (Type 1). The drive’s enclosure offers some protection from solid or airborne particulate matter, as well as easing the process of mounting and re-mounting if the drive is to be moved around and re-deployed within its production environment.
This unit offers a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen with a full numeric keypad by way of Human Interface Module (HIM). This permits qualified operators to interface directly with the device, examining process variables and undertaking limited programming of the machinery on-demand. The screen will also alert the operator to any faults, while the machine will activate alarms to indicate an interruption or inadequacy in operation. Like all other Allen-Bradley AFDs, the 20AD022A3AYNANC0 Powerflex 700 requires adequate grounding to minimize the occurrence of electrical noise. This means that shielded terminals and cables must be used wherever possible, and all cable runs must be kept to the minimum practical length. This unit does not offer feedback, but it possesses enhanced control.
