Part number 22-COMM-B is a PowerFlex Component Class DSI BACnet MS/TP Adapter. This part is used for network communication and installs on the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 40 and PowerFlex 400 drives. It is also compatible with the DSI communication kit for external controllers. The module contains a number of components that contribute to the optimum functionality of the drive. The 22-COMM-B contains the switches TERM, BIAS, and +BIAS. These switches control the adapter's internal termination resistors, as well as the biasing resistors. It also has MAC address switches to configure MAC addresses.

This device is equipped with LED status indicators, which display the state of the network connection. These also check the DSI's functionality and confirm that the adaptor is operational. The 22-COMM-B adapter is usuallyplaced on top of PowerFlex 40 or 400 AC drives but can also be inserted into the DSI external communications kit for communications in industrial situations. Captive screws are also included with the module to secure it to the drive or while installed in the metal case of the DSI External Communication Kit. The 22-COMM-B supports a variety of configuration tools to help configure both the adapter and the attached device. When storing, make sure to keep the adapter in an anti-static bag to avoid damage to the circuitry of the board and store the adapter within an area that has a temperature of less than 55 degrees Celsius. Install the adapter in a concealed place to protect it from dust and moisture since it does not come with any protection or enclosure.
