The Allen-Bradley 22A-B017N104 is a PowerFlex 4 adjustable frequency AC drive that provides a full-featured four digits alphanumeric human interface liquid crystal (LCD) display module to show either parameter number and value or fault code with an integral digital keypad to program and control employing the local potentiometer both torque and speed of three-phase induction motors in industrial applications. The 22A-B017N104 can be mounted with an input circuit breaker or fuses. This variable frequency controller produces torque efficiently over a large speed range and offers sensorless vector control. The device supports shielded and unshielded cables for wiring and installation. The VFD provides removable MOV to ground ungrounded distribution systems to increase motor life. This drive includes relay pre-charge to limit inrush current.

The 22A-B017N104 includes ten (10) LED indicators that report and display visual notification of drive status and information. This VFD supports an input voltage of 240 Volts AC and current consumption of 17.5 Amperes with a maximum power rating of 5 horsepower and 3.7 Kilowatts. This device supports the RS-485 (DSI) protocol to communicate with Rockwell Automation devices and to be programmed by a PC. The 22A-B017N104 is conceived to meet the IP20 and NEMA Type open enclosure ratings. This unit can be installed vertically on a 35-millimeter DIN on B frame drives or using M4 screws. This VFD offers an adjustable pulse width modulation (PWM) frequency of up to 16 kHz to ensure proper operation. The 22A-B017N104 can operate at a temperature range of 10 to 50 degrees Celsius (14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit) for industrial applications from fans to extruders and weighs approximately 1.81 Kilograms (3.99 pounds) while shipping.

The 22A-B017N104, by Allen-Bradley, is a variable frequency drive which can run AC induction motors up to 5.0 HP with 17.5 Amps. It takes input voltage rating of 200 to 240 VAC, three-phase, and converts it to an output voltage within the range of 0 to 230 VAC, three-phase, with a continuous current of 17.5 amperes. The output frequency is programmable from 0 to 240 Hz. At start up, this drive can overcome startup torque, mainly using its capability of providing 150% overload for up to 1 minute or 200% overload capability for up to 3 seconds. The motor is protected using the drive electronic overload. This unit uses the sensorless vector control method, which has to be one of the best to control both speed and torque from 0 to setup speed. The control parameters have to be adjusted locally or remotely after installation. It can be set manually or by using compatible handheld programmable devices. Locally, the supplied fixed digital keypad (IP20 protected) and LED display can be used to program various parameters. Operators are able to program preset frequencies, acceleration and deceleration times, configuration of input control lines, and more. This unit can accelerate and decelerate from 0 to 600 seconds, programmable in 0.1 second increments. The RS-485 interface is supplied for communication and can be connected to the network or to handheld device. Also, it can be converted to RS-232 interface using the available option. The ambient operating temperature should not exceed -10 to 50 degrees Celsius (14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit).
