The obsolete 2711-B6C16 operator terminal is manufactured by Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the PanelView 600 series. This unit operates on a power voltage range of 85 - 264 volts AC power and has 240 kilobytes of internal memory. The operator terminal is specially designed to help the user to interact with their machines effortlessly. Allen Bradley 2711-B6C16 terminal features a human-machine interface (HMI) with a color display measuring 5 inches diagonally. The user uses a human machine interface to control the 2711-B6C16 terminal using the touchscreen or keypad to input data and information. It also comes with an optional replacement part of internal backlight 2711-NL5. Other specifications of this terminal include an approximated shipment weight of 6 lbs and measurements of 14 x 11 x 8 inches. PanelView terminals with RS-232 (DF1) including 2711-B6C16 use individual MicroLogix, SLC 500, and PLC-5 controllers which support Full Duplex communication. DF1 is a proprietary master/slave protocol by Allen-Bradley that helps in transmitting information via a serial data communications such as RS-422, RS-485 and RS-232 interface. The protocol is also used to manage applications that require messaging to and from controllers as well as other equipment by Allen Bradley.
