Allen-Bradley's 2711P-B7C4B2 is the best option to generate human machine interfaces (HMI) for small applications. This terminal has a modular infrastructure with a display, logic, and communication modules. This structure offers flexibility in configuring, installing, and upgrading the terminal. The display module and logic module combine to make the base unit of this terminal. The display module has a color display and uses a combination of a keypad/touch screen for inputs. The type of display is liquid crystal and uses TFT(thin-film transistor) technology. It displays images of 5.2 inches x 3.9 inches with a picture quality of 640 x 480 pixels. The keypad has twenty-two functional, twenty numeric, and four arrow keys. The logic module comes outfitted with a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port for communication over the network, as well as an RS-232 port for printing, controllers connections, and file transfers purposes. The terminal also has two USB ports for linking compatible peripherals devices. The 2711P-B7C4B2 contains a real-time clock and CF (compact flash) slot. It also has a connector to merge the external communication module with the terminal. It enhances the communications options to DH+, Remote Input/Output networks, and DH-485. RAM may be upgraded to 256 MB and CompactFlash to a maximum of 512 MB using memory expansion modules.
