The Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation 2711P-RN15C is a communication module that supports the ControlNet network protocol. In this module, there are two channels accessible. It contains two BNC media connections that are redundant. This communication module also has a NAP (Network Access Port) with an RJ45 connection. The 2711P-RN15C uses RG-6 cables to connect to other devices. With a maximum working temperature of 50 degrees Fahrenheit, the 2711P-RN15C requires enough ventilation to allow for convection cooling.

Part number 2711P-RN15C module is a ControlNet network protocol-supporting communication module manufactured by Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation. The ControlNet network is an open industrial network that connects to a variety of automation devices via the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP). Allen-Bradley's PanelView Plus 400 and PanelView Plus 600 terminals are compatible with this module. There are two (2) channels available in this module. It has redundant BNC media connectors. A NAP, or Network Access Port, with an RJ45 connector is also included in this communication module. To connect to other devices, the 2711P-RN15C uses RG-6 cables. Two LEDs, or light emitting diodes, are used to indicate system status on the module. While power is being supplied to the unit, this module cannot be installed or removed. To avoid damage to both devices, users must ensure that the unit is disconnected from power supplies before connecting or disconnecting from the Panel-View terminal. The 2711P-RN15C has a maximum operating temperature of 50 degrees Fahrenheit and requires adequate ventilation to allow for convection cooling. Furthermore, when a new ControlNet communication module 2711P-RN15C is installed in a PanelView Plus or PanelView Plus CE, the terminal needs proper configurations in order to communicate with the ControlNet communication card.
