The 1746-NI8 is an analog single-slot I/O module manufactured by Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the SLC 500 series. It has 8-Channel input and an isolated backplane with a current consumption of 200 milliamps 5 volts DC and 100 milliamps at 24 volts DC. The maximum backplane power consumption for the 1746-NI8 module is 2.4 Watts at 24 Volts DC and 1 watt at 5 volts DC. It is well-matched with time-sensitive applications requiring fast analog signal conversion and a high level of accuracy. For input filtering, the module uses a low-pass digital filter and programmable filter frequencies. The 1746-NI8 module can be installed in any input or output slot with the exemption of Slot 0 of SLC 500 input and output chassis. It has a common-mode voltage of -10 to 10 volts and 15 volts maximum between any two terminals. This module performs a continuous auto-calibration with an isolation voltage of 530 volts AC and 750 volts DC, tested for 1 minute. Allen Bradley 1746-NI8 analog single-slot I/O module features a detachable terminal block with 18 positions. Belden 8761 or any similar cable is used with one or two 14 AWG wires per terminal when wiring this device. This type of cable has 40 Ohms maximum loop impedance at voltage source and 250 Ohms at the current source. It features nine green LED status indicators used for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Each of the eight channels has an indicator to display its input status and one indicator for displaying the state of the module. This module is certified for compliance with Division 2 hazardous environment standards and has an operating temperature range of 0 – 60 degrees Celsius.

Product number 1746-NI8 is an SLC 500 analog input module that was designed and manufactured by the company known as Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. This device has several selectable input types. These include plus or minus (+/-) 10 volts DC, 1 to 5 volts DC, 0 to 5 volts DC, 0 to 10 volts DC, 0 to 20 volts DC, 0 to 20 milliamperes, 4 to 20 milliamperes, plus or minus (+/-) 20 milliamperes, and 0 to 1 milliampere. The input impedance of this device is one (1) megohm. Additionally, this analog input module has a maximum voltage input rating of plus or minus (+/-) 30 volts between any two (2) signal terminals. Furthermore, this module has a maximum current input rating of 30 milliamperes. The time it takes for this device to detect an open circuit is one (1) module scan. The Allen Bradley 1746-NI8 analog input module has an input resolution of one (1) millivolt or one (1) microampere. Additionally, it has a display resolution of one (1) millivolt or one (1) microampere. When installed in any slot of an I/O chassis other than slot 0, this module should be operated in an environment where the temperature ranges from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius, or the equivalent temperature range of 32 to 133 degrees Fahrenheit. When storing this module, the temperature of the surrounding area should range from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, or -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. the relative humidity rating for this Allen Bradley module is 5% to 95% with no condensation.
