Part number 1755-A6 is a six-slot guard PLC chassis that was created and manufactured by Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation. It features digital I/O running at twenty-four (24) volts DC (direct current) and various I/O test points. A transitory error is one that happens in an I/O module and then goes away on its own. When a transitory error occurs, the module does a self-test. If the test is successful, the I/O module's state is changed to 'good,' and the module's regular operation resumes. Examples of common uses include perimeter guarding for a robot, or weld cells, perimeter guarding for packing machines, the entertainment business (riding control and ski lift control), the semiconductor industry, press control, and burner management, and the transportation industry. This 1755-A6 6 slot guard PLC chassis has a metal chassis, self I/O test, and multiple I/O test points. 

According to IEC 61508 and EN 954–1, Category 4, this has been approved by TÜV that can be used in operations up to SIL 3 as according to the IEC 61508. The chassis supports an Ethernet port that can be used for programming, configuration, and peer-to-peer specifications. This device has available memory consisting of five hundred (500) kilobytes (KB) of application code memory and five hundred (500) kilobytes (KB) of application data memory. This PLC class requires an rated operating voltage of 3.3 volts DC. Additionally, this product has a rated current consumption of 0.1 amperes at 5 volts DC.
