Part number 1756-L73K is a ControlLogix Standard controller, manufactured by Allen Bradley. Its purpose is to provide a scalable controller solution, capable of addressing many I/O points. The controller is to be installed in a ControlLogix chassis. It occupies a single slot space, and the chassis can carry multiple controllers. The 1756-L73K is part of the ControlLogix 5570 subgroup of products, which can perform 32 tasks, running 100 programs per task. It has a built-in UBS 2.0 full speed communication port that can undertake well know communication options like Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Data Highway Plus, Remote I/O, Synclink, and other third-party process and device networks. The maximum number of total connections the controller can handle is 500, and the unit supports controller redundancy.

The controller supports integrated motion functionalities SERCOS interface, Analog encoder, LDT, and SSI inputs, which enables AC drives to perform high level precision positioning without additional hardware. The unit has available user memory of 8 Megabytes and I/O memory of 0.98 Megabytes. It comes with a factory pre-installed Secure Digital (SD) memory card of 1 Gigabyte capacity, and optionally supports a larger, 2 Gigabyte capacity SD memory card. The current draw of this device is 5 milliamperes at 1.2 volts DC and 800 milliamperes at 5.1 volts DC. Its power dissipation is 2.5 watts, and the thermal dissipation is 8.5 British Thermal Units per hour (BTU/hr). It has continuous isolation voltage of 30 volts with a basic insulation type. The controller has an open enclosure with conformal coating for protection in corrosive environments.
