Allen Bradley designed and produced the 1756-M02AS module. This device is an analog SSI (serial synchronous input) motion module. This unit is intended for use in open-loop and closed-loop motion applications. While this unit only requires two (2) axes of motion and combining more modules can provide up to thirty-two (32) axes of motion per CPU. The 1756-M02AS may supply an input voltage of +/- 10 volts. This device also supports SSI input with a resolution ranging from eight (8) to thirty-one (31) bits. It has optical isolation and a current-sinking circuit. It features a 5-volt rated isolated differential electrical interface. This module has various frequency ratings, which include 500 hertz, 666.7 hertz, 1 kilohertz, 2 kilohertz, and 4 kilohertz. There are update intervals of 250 microseconds, 500 microseconds, 1 millisecond,1.5 milliseconds, along with a total of 2 milliseconds are available. This device has a nominal direct current input voltage of 24 volts. It features an on-stage voltage range of 17 to 26.4 volts of direct current (DC) and an off-state voltage of 8.5 volts maximum. At 5.1 volts, the 1756-M02AS has a current draw rating of 700 milliamperes and 2.5 milliamperes at 24 volts DC. This module's power dissipation is 5.5 watts, and its thermal dissipation rating is 18.77 BTU/hr. The 1756-M02AS is rated for a constant isolation voltage of 30 volts. This module is designed to work with the 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H Removable Terminal Blocks (RTB). This Allen Bradley device takes up one (1) slot in a ControlLogix chassis.
