Description:

The 1756-M16SE is an interface module. It is part of the ControlLogix SERCOS line of modules from Allen-Bradley. It is specially designed to be used with SERVO drives from the Kinetix line. This controller can support a total of 16 drives. The SERCOS feature comes with data rates of 4 and 8 megabytes per second (Mbps). This interface module must be placed inside an open enclosure. This interface module features a digital interface. This controller is designed for fast communication using the embedded serial port. Communication takes place via the noise-immune fiber optic cable.


This unit does not ship with terminal blocks. Terminal blocks may be present in photographs for illustrative purposes.

The ControlLogix 1756-M16SE comes with SERCOS integration. It is a type of motion module. This drive is designed by integrating features from the servo drive and the ControlLogix platform. It requires an open rated enclosure. This analog drive comes with a digital interface on its front. The embedded fiber optic cable can cancel out noise. This fiber optic cable is designed for seamless communication using the serial port. It can exchange data at a minimum rate of four (4) megabytes per second (Mbps). Thanks to this cable, users do not need to use eighteen (18) different digital wires for each axis. The cycle time for the integrated SERCOS is one (1) millisecond. This drive can offer this speed for all four (4) connected drives. The cycle time is 0.5 milliseconds when data is transferred at 8 megabytes per second. 

For controlling the torque, precision, and velocity, this module comes with many advanced control modes. This controller only works with direct current. When operating at 5 volts, this controller can draw current at 760 milliamperes. On the other hand, when operating at 24 volts, this controller can draw current at a rate of 2.4 milliamperes. The ControlLogix 1756-M16SE can efficiently communicate the operation status information to the controller in seconds, as well as receive commands from the controller. This drive can be connected with the 2094 Kinetix 6000, the 2093 Kinetix 2000, the 2099 Kinetix 7000, or the 2098 Ultra 3000 drive. The width of the embedded slot is one (1) module.
