The 1761-NET-DNI is a DeviceNet Interface Unit manufactured by Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the MicroLogix 1000 product line. The DeviceNet interface is a standalone unit that provides peer-to-peer messaging communication. This unit supports DIN-rail mounting or panel mounting with an intelligent DeviceNet-to-DF1 protocol-conversion device, which allows for the existing DF1 devices communication over a DeviceNet network. The DF1 device receives DF1 messages from a DeviceNet unit and also exchanges input and output data using the master device. The 1761-NET-DNI DeviceNet Interface comes with a wide range of features, with the most crucial ones, including explicit messaging features as well as the ability to use the DeviceNet I/O to program other machines. To be safe, this unit should be mounted in an enclosure when in operation. It can also be installed in either horizontal or vertical position. Allen Bradley 1761-NET-DNI DeviceNet Interface is a flexible unit that requires no spacing except for the DIN rail latch movement. It is also equipped with one DeviceNet connection point and one RS-232 communication port. Both DeviceNet and RS-232 ports are isolated from each other. This DeviceNet Interface unit operates on a voltage power of 24 volts DC, and it requires an operating temperature of 32 – 140 degrees Fahrenheit to function efficiently. The main function of the 1761-NET-DNI DeviceNet Interface is to collect and receive data from the connected DF1 device before sending it to the Master unit, which is connected to a DeviceNet network. This module also monitors the acquired output data from the master connection and allows for an exchange of messages over the DeviceNet network.
