The 1763-MM1 is a memory module designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The memory module is compatible with the MicroLogix 1100 Programmable Logic Controllers. The module can back up user and program data and can be used to transfer them between different controllers. The controller is intended to extend application coverage through analog inputs, Ethernet connectivity, and visualization capabilities. Also, the memory module has 128 Kilobytes of nonvolatile memory and it supports a battery backup static RAM. Note: this module does not increase the available memory of the controller. Only one user program can be saved at a time in this memory module. The memory module can be programmed to automatically load a program every time it is powered On. Set S:1/11 to One to load the memory module contents every time the controller is powered On or Off. Furthermore, the program placed in the memory module may be compared to the existing program in the controller using the S:2/9 bit. Execution will be denied if the memory module contents differ from the current program in the controller's RAM. Set the S:2/9 bit to One to activate this functionality. The 1763-MM1 also allows a MicroLogix 1100 Series B controller to be connected to a MicroLogix Series A controller. To do this, reconfigure the offline PLC program to a series A MicroLogix Controller. Set the relevant bits, such as Always Load Memory Module or Load Memory on Memory Module Error. Load the 1763-MM1 into the MicroLogix 1100 Series A controller after saving the Series A controller.
