The 1764-MM2RTC is a MicroLogix 1500 with Memory Module with a Real-time clock(RTC) function manufactured by Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This memory module belongs to the MicroLogix 1550 series and is compatible with all the MicroLogix controllers and processors. It also comes with a memory module of 16 Kilobytes and features a real-time clock. Besides, the module supports backups programs as well as functions, including program compare, and data file download protection, and much more. This memory and real-time clock unit can be removed or inserted any time without worrying about the risk of damage to the controller or the module. When this module is installed with another controller is in an executing mode, it is recognized until the controller goes in a non-executing mode or the power cycle occurs. Allen Bradley 1764-MM2RTC MicroLogix 1500 Memory Module comes with a real-time clock that provides the date and time information to the RTC function file of the controller. When the module is detached from the controller, the controller will show zeros on the RTC Function file. The accuracy of the Allen Bradley 1764-MM2RTC memory and RTC module differs according to the temperature. For instance, at a temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 degrees Celsius, the module has an accuracy of approximately +36 to -68 seconds per month. This module also comes with an internal, permanent battery as well as a battery indicator. The module needs to be replaced when the battery fails, but the battery can be preserved by using the disable clock button when the controller is in storage mode.

Being a specialized MicroLogix 1500 memory module, the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1764-MM2RTC comes with a built-in real-time clock. It has a memory capacity of 16 KB. For supported MicroLogix 1500 series controllers, this memory module can store application programs and user data. Unlike other memory modules from Allen-Bradley, the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1764-MM2RTC comes with a built-in battery that has a five-year lifespan. This is higher than most other memory modules in the market. Furthermore, users can further extend the lifespan of the battery by keeping the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1764-MM2RTC at a storage temperature of -40 to 40 degrees Celsius. (-40 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit). Always keep this memory module away from high temperatures, as it significantly hampers the longevity of the memory module. When it comes to compatibility, the Allen-Bradley 1764-MM2RTC works perfectly with MicroLogix 1764-LRP and 1764-LSP controllers. As mentioned earlier, it comes with a memory module and a built-in real-time clock. Users can remove this module from the controllers without first unplugging it or configuring it. It is advised that operators do not install this memory module within a controller while it is still in run mode. If a user does so, the controller will not recognize the memory module until it runs into a power cut or enters into the stop mode. The purpose of the real-time clock inside the Allen-Bradley/ Rockwell Automation 1764-MM2RTC is to provide data and time information to the built-in RTC. If the module is removed, the real-time clock will display zeros. The module is rated for an IP20 enclosure.
