The Allen-Bradley 1769-L35E CompactLogix controller is a part of the Logix family of controllers which provides state-of-the-art control. This controller supports 30 I/O modules and uses up to 3 I/O banks. The 1769-L35E provides a built-in serial RS-232 communication port which uses either 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP3 serial cables for programming and a built-in EtherNet/IP communication port which provides a full suite of control, configuration and data gathering services by merging the CIP (common industrial protocol) over the standard Internet protocols (TCP/IP and UDP) which supports 32 CIP connections over an EtherNet/IP network using the standard Ethernet cable with RJ-45 connector. The 1769-L35E controller should reside on the leftmost side of the bank and can be mounted on well-grounded panels using two mounting M4 or #8 screws or on either EN 50 022 - 35 x 7.5 or EN 50 022 - 35 x 15 DIN rails. The 1769-L35E controller can be attached easily to either an adjacent I/O module or power supply before or after mounting. The CompactLogix 1769-L35E controller employs different programming languages such as ladder diagram (LD), function block diagram (FBD), sequential function chart (SFC) and structured text (ST). The 1769-L35E controller dissipates an electrical power of 2.61 watts. The 1769-L35E controller contains 1.5 megabytes user memory and an optional industrial 1784-CF64 CompactFlash card which provides an extra nonvolatile memory. The Allen-Bradley 1769-L35E CompactLogix controller can be supplied through 1769 Compact I/O power supplies such as 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4, 1769-PB4 which are Class 2-rated power supplies with a current consumption of 660 milliamps. The 1769-L35E is intended for use in a mainly industrial environment that is clean and dry. This controller weighs approximately 300 grams (0.66 pounds) while shipping. This Allen-Bradley module works properly at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit).

The 1769-L35E is a programmable automation controller in the CompactLogix series by Allen-Bradley. It has applications in the process and factory automation industry for medium-sized control requirements. This unit has one (1) Ethernet and one (1) RS-232 port and features 1.5 megabytes (MB) of integrated memory. Up to thirty (30) local I/O modules may be installed with this unit. The 1769-L35E features an auto-negotiation function and supports data transfer at up to 10/100 megabits per second.

The Ethernet connection is through a Cat5 or a Cat6 cable as long as 100 meters. The RS-232 port supports cables as long as 15.2 meters with a standard 9-Pin DB9 connector. The 1747-CP3 or 1756-CP3 serial cables may be used. This module supports the DH485 and DF1 communication protocols. The module supports the IEC-61131-3 programming standard for PAC and PLCs.

The module is compatible with structured text, statement list, function block, ladder, and SFC programming languages. This unit has a draw current rating of 660 milliamperes at 5 volts direct current (DC) and is rated for a heat dissipation rate of 5.5 watts. It is certified in the CISPA11 Class 1 (Group 1) for emissions. The 1769-L35E has a backplane current requirement of 660 milliamperes at 5 volts direct current. Supported power supplies include the 1769-PA4. When mounted using a panel mount, the module has an operational shock rating of 30 G, and the operational shock rating is 20 G when mounted on a DIN-rail.
