Part number 1771-ASB/E is a remote I/O adapter module. This module was designed and manufactured by the company known as Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. This module, which is a series E version of the 1771-ASB module, has several differences that make it unique when compared to the other series of the module. This series E 1771-ASB module has a hardware change and has an added C-Tick certification. This series supports 1/2, 1, or 2 slot addressing. It also supports 32 bit digital I/O, and can even emulate a series B adapter. The 1771-ASB/E has communication rates that include 57.6kbits/s, 115.2kbits/s, and 230.4kbits/s. In addition to the C-Tick certification stated earlier, this series E module has the CSA Hazardous Class I, Div 2 certification, as well as a CE certification. The backplane current of this module is 1.0 ampere at 5 volts direct current (DC). The chassis distance of the Allen Bradley 1771-ASB/E is 5,000 feet at 115.2kbits/s, 10,000 feet at 57.6kbits/s, and 2,500 feet at 230.4kbits/s. The thermal dissipation rating of this series E module is 17.06 BTU/hr. Additionally, the power dissipation rating of this device is 5 watts. When operating this module, the temperature of the surrounding environment should range from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. However, if this module is not being operated, or needs to be stored, the temperature of the surrounding environment should range from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity rating suitable for the 1771-ASB/E ranges from 5% to 95% with no condensation.
