Description:

The 1771-CFM module from Allen-Bradley is an I/O module that includes a configurable flow meter module with a four-digit input and output. This module supports magnetic pickup and is TTL compatible. It also has four digital outputs that operate on 5 to 40 volts DC and are controlled by PLC 5 processors. The 1771-CFM module should be operated at temperatures ranging from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit).

The 1771-CFM is a type of programmable flow meter unit. It is built to be used in automation systems. It starts by first receiving signals from the connected field devices. After that, it uses the signals to make accurate, and fast calculations. This flow meter unit can be deployed for measuring shaft speed too. The 1771-CFM can ideally be used as an intermediary that connects turbine flow meters with industrial interfaces. It can also connect single-channel shaft encoders with magnetic industrial pickups. Thanks to its advanced specs, the 1771-CFM can also calculate flow signals from TTL pulse sources. 

The 1771-CFM can be used in a wide range of industrial applications starting with pipeline, food & beverage, oil, power generation, gas, and automotive. It is ideal for any industrial application that deals with turbine metering and motor flow measurement. After users integrate this flow meter into their PLC-5 industrial system, they will experience a drastic reduction in the overall cost. Users can use this flow meter as alternatives for the 1771-QRC and the 1771-QRD unit. Users do not need to make any modification to the ladder logic. 

The 1771-CFM comes with four different input channels. Depending on the values supplied by the input channels, this module can control a maximum of four outputs. A maximum of 2 to 3 watts is the power dissipation range for this industrial unit. This module sends data for diagnosis purpose to the connected PLC processor. The PLC processor can be programmed according to the specific needs of the users. 5.5 milliseconds is the maximum processing time required by this unit.
