The Allen-Bradley 1771-OQ16 is a 24-volt DC isolated output module. It is part of the 1771 digital direct current (DC) output modules for PLC-5 Systems. The 1771-OQ16 houses a total of sixteen different outputs. All the 16 outputs either fall into the sink or source voltage category. It features an operating voltage bracket from 10 to 32 volts direct current. The 1771-OQ16 has a maximum power of 32 amperes. The 1771-OQ16 has a compact and modular design. Furthermore, with modular design also helps with cost-effective installations.
The 1771-OQ16 output is manufactured to operate with direct current output devices and other relays modules. It comes with a total of 18 different LED indicators. Among the 18, 16 LEDs are used for displaying the output status. One of them is used for notifying users about blown fuses. Additionally, there is the indicator that tells when the module is active and running. An “on” signal communicated among the system backplane, and the industrial module. When this happens, the module triggers the corresponding LEDs to light up. The 1771-OQ16 can be setup into the 1771-AM2, -AM1, and any I/O chassis from the 1771 line. However, it cannot be paired with the 1771-A1, -A2, and -A4 chassis.
The 1771-OQ16 can be plugged into any chassis slot. However, the chassis slot at the farthest left side is exclusively meant to be used with processors & adapters. The place between the pins 22 and 24 is where you should plug in the keying bands. It can also be placed inside the pins numbered 32 and 24. Users must always use the correct key number to avoid damaging the module. Furthermore, the correct key is required to avoid possible system faults.
