Allen-Bradley’s 1771-OX is a point input/output digital output module. This power contact output module belongs to the product series of PLC5 control systems. Four isolated output points are available in this module that is adjustable as open or closed contacts, which are associated with four specific status indicators. The maximum current value of this module is 2 amperes operating at a voltage range of 0-250 VAC rms or 0-175 VDC and has an apparent power rating of 200 VA. This module has indicators on the front panel that indicate the state of output relay coils. They play their role in detecting hardware faults via respective device responses. The 1771-OX is manufactured to protect against DC overloading via fuse. The output circuit opens if the fuse detects DC overload. During the installation of the 1771-OX module, it is important to mount it in such a way that it is a maximum of 30 degrees vertical for the mercury relays to work effectively. Operators are advised to use the RC network when this module is used with loads having inductance factors such as relays and coils. The typical AC signal delay (off) is 45 milliseconds +/- 15, and the typical DC signal delay (off) is 50 milliseconds. There is also a delay of 10 milliseconds for contact outputs. 6 amperes DC peak for 500 seconds and 5.5 amperes AC peak for five seconds are the current peaks that are present with 1771-OX. This device features a max resistance of 0.25 Ω, a power loss ranging from 2.6 to 2.9 watts, a backplane current of 550 milliamperes, and a maximum working temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. The 1771-OX digital output module is certified and listed for compliance with the CL and UL standards.
