The 1783-BMS20CGP is an Ethernet switch module. This switch is designed with a conformal coating, which improves the unit's safety when operated in an industrial situation. This switch belongs to Allen Bradley's Stratix 5700 series of products. This Ethernet connection switch has two (2) fiber ports and two (2) combo Gigabit ports. Additionally, this device has sixteen (16) Ethernet ports. In total, this Allen Bradley module has twenty (20) switch ports. Furthermore, these same ports support Gigabit Ethernet over fiber or copper cables. This Allen Bradley Ethernet switch module is a full-type model. Therefore, this module corresponds to the DLR and CIP synchronization features. The DLR function aids in network design optimization and delivers integrated network diagnostics. Furthermore, the Allen Bradley 1783-BMS20CGP Ethernet switch module enables dual-port network devices to create a ring topology that provides alternate data routes in-ring failures. The wire size for the power connectors of this device should range from 0.5 to 0.8 millimeters squared (mm²), or the equivalent of 18 to 20 American Wire Gauge (AWG). The recommended screw torque for the ground terminals is rated at 0.4 Newton-meters (N-m), or 3.5 pound-inches (lb-in), while the recommended screw torque for the power terminals is rated at 0.23 Newton-meters (N-m), or 2.0 pound-inches (lb-in). The power supply rating of the Allen Bradley 1783-BMS20CGP Ethernet switch module is 12 to 48 volts direct current (DC) with a current rating of 0.5 to 3.0 amperes maximum. The temperature of the surrounding area when this device is operational should range from -40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
