The Allen Bradley 1785-V40B can be deployed to execute a number of industrial applications. It is an enhanced processor that belongs to the PLC-5 series of products from Allen Bradley. It comes with almost the same features as a PLC-5/40 processor or a PLC-5 processor. It also comes with a C.1 compliance rating. It can be directly integrated with VMEbus systems. Using the embedded VMEbus system, this module can establish communication with other VMEbus CPU modules on the same network. 

The Allen Bradley 1785-V40B lacks a dedicated EEPROM memory module. 48,000 words is the user memory for this industrial processor. It comes with a limitation of 32,000 words for every data table file. This industrial processor can process a maximum of 1920 ports at the same time. All 1920 ports can be outputs or inputs as both are supported. Unlike other processors, the Allen Bradley 1785-V40B has a scan time of 0.5 milliseconds per 1000 words, as well as a scan time of 2 milliseconds per 1000 word files. For scan on local input/output, this module requires 10 ms per rack of data (57.6 kilobytes per speed). When scanning at a speed of 230 kilobytes per second, it requires 3 milliseconds for each rack. This industrial processor supports three different types of transfer rates, which include 115.2 kilobytes per second, 57.6 kilobytes per second, or 230 kilobytes per second. The 4 ports of this device can be used for connecting remote input/output modules or DH+ modules. A maximum of 15 input/output racks can be paired with each processor.
