Part number 1791-8BR is a block input / output module that was designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This device is equipped with eight (8) inputs, as well as eight (8) normally open outputs. Included with this device is a built-in power supply, a communication interface, I/O interfaces, and even corresponding signal conditioning circuitry. 

This Allen-Bradley product has many specifications in regards to both input and output. For input, the on-state voltage range is 10 to 30 volts DC. The on-state current minimum is 2.5 milliamperes at 10 volts and 11.0 milliamperes at 30 volts maximum.The off-state voltage is 5 volts DC maximum, while the off-state current is 1.5 milliamperes minimum. The input impedance of this device is 3.4 K ohms maximum. 

In terms of output specifications, the output voltage ranges are 20 to 132 volts AC at 1 amp resistive maximum, 20 to 30 volts DC at 1 amp resistive maximum, and 125 volts DC at 0.2 amps resistive maximum. The output current rating when resistive is 1 amp at 20 to 132 volts AC, 1 amp at 20 to 30 volts DC, and 0.2 amps at 125 volts DC. The output current rating when inductive, however, is 0.5 amps at 20 to 132 volts AC, 1 amp at 20 to 30 volts Dc, and 0.1 amps and 125 volts DC. 

This product requires and external voltage of 19.2 to 30 volts DC and an external current of 300 milliamperes to power properly. This device's power dissipation maximum is 14.5 watts and the thermal dissipation maximum is 49.4 BTU/hr. The dimensions of this Allen-Bradley product measure 6.95 inches by 2.7 inches by 3.85 inches.
