The 1794-OV16 from Allen-Bradley is a FLEX digital DC output module. It is installed inside the terminal bus, bridging the gap between the external devices and the I/O bus. These modules may be added or withdrawn while the power is on, as the I/O module is not directly connected. This saves time and eliminates the inefficiencies associated with system restarts.
The 1794-OV16 module is equipped with sixteen current sinking outputs. It features a nominal On-State voltage output of 24 volts DC, a range of On-State output voltages of 10 to 31.2 volts DC (direct current), and a highest on-state output current of five hundred (500) milliamperes per channel and eight (8) amperes per module. It offers a maximum output delay of 0.5 milliseconds between off and on states and 1.0 milliseconds between on and off states. It dissipates a maximum of 4.2 watts at 31.2 volts DC. The 1794-TB3 and 1794-TB3S are compatible terminal base units. It is powered externally from a 10 to 31.2 volt DC source with a 5% AC ripple and a current range of 20 to 65 milliamperes. It is easily snapped onto the DIN rail. It communicates using a variety of protocols, including ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, and Universal Remote I/O.
The 1794-OV16 module has sixteen yellow LED status indicators for every channel that identifies the input device and output signal associated with that channel. Additionally, it offers XT versions of conventional modules for use in harsh locations, lowering panel and maintenance requirements. It operates between 0 and 55 °C (32 and 131 °F) and has a non-condensing humidity level maximum of 95%.
