Description:

The 1797-BIC is an Allen-Bradley FLEX Ex Bus Isolator that allows users to connect standard FLEX input or output modules to intrinsically safe FLEX Ex modules in the same Input or Output group. Eight FLEX Ex device can be used as input or output on the module. This Allen Bradley module draws eighteen (18) to thirty-two (32) volts of direct current at 0.5 amperes of power and dissipates 1.2 watts. This device measures 87 mm x 75 mm x 94 mm. It also weighs approximately 200 grams.

Part number 1797-BIC was designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley and is a FLEX Ex bus isolator. This device has an I/O module capacity of eight (8) FLEX Ex modules. This module has an IS compatible separation mechanism that converts hazardous power to IS-safe power for one side of the bus receiver/transmitter circuitry. For the module to function properly, power must be applied to the 1797-BIC FLEX Ex bus isolator and its accompanying adapter. The module operates from 18 to 32 volts direct current (DC) at 0.15 amperes. The power dissipation rating of this device is 2.1 watts. Additionally, it has thermal dissipation rating of 72 British Thermal Unit per hour (BTU/hr). Part number 1797-BIC has an operating temperature range of -20 to 70 degrees Celsius, with a storage temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the relative humidity of the device's surrounding area should remain within a range of 5% to 95%, as well as be non-condensing. This device has a non-operational and operational shock of thirty (30) g at peak acceleration and a pulse width of eleven (11) milliseconds, plus or minus one (+/- 1) millisecond. This device is capable of being mounted via a DIN rail. This Allen Bradley device has physical dimensions that measure 87 mm x 75 mm x 94 mm (height x width x depth). The weight of this device is approximately 200 grams. The 1797-BIC isolator module meets CE requirements for use in hazardous areas and is certified by FM, UL, C-UL, and INMETRO.
