The FLEX Ex Thermocouple/RTD/ input module,1797-IRT8, has sophisticated features such as local microprocessor intelligence and full operation without switches and jumpers. It also offers numerous data ranges that may be individually programmed in channel groups, lead breakage sensing, over range/under range alerts, and a variety of additional capabilities. This device supports up to eight thermocouple, RTD, or mV inputs. You can choose RTD or thermocouple mode for groups of input channels and sensor type for each group. It is appropriate for Pt 100, Pt 200, Ni 100, Ni 120, Ni 200, and 10 Cu RTD type inputs. It is also suitable for thermocouple type B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T, TXK, and XK (L) input. Non-isolated inputs are chosen using analog multiplexers with a common-mode input ranging from -0.5 to +3.6 volts. A millivolt or resistive input will be accepted by the inputs. Input spans are set to -40.00 millivolts to +100.00 millivolts or 0.00 to 485.00 ohms by default. It is suitable to operate with a safe power supply of 9.5 volts DC (Ui) and 1 ampere (Ii). Its power consumption is 1.6 watts on the field-side. It usually takes 8 milliseconds of settling time. It has lead resistance compensation of fewer than 15 watts. It has 2 key switch positions.
