The Allen-Bradley 1798-ADN is a DeviceNet FlexArmor I/O module from the 1798 Bulletin. It's a compact, flexible block I/O device for distributed applications that does everything a rack-based I/O system can deliver. It has a nominal voltage range of 24 VDC. The output power voltage rating is 5 VDC nominal. Besides, its insulation voltage is 24 VDC external power to 5 VDC. It can deliver 400 mA at 24 VDC input current rating and 640 mA at 5.2 VDC output current rating. The primary function of this I/O module is to interface I/O units. The backplane can communicate with the adapter's I/O modules. This I/O module contains an IP67 protective enclosure, which includes protection against dust, liquids, and solid-state particles. This I/O module from Allen-Bradley also complies with the c-UL-us, UL, CE c-Tick, and ODVA certifications/standards. In addition, this product provides two major functions. First, it can offer flexible diagnostics indicators that include network status and I/O status. Secondly, it is an excellent unit for providing node address switches. As far as the safety of this I/O module is concerned, users should keep it from contaminants such as liquids, gases, and solid-state particles. This is a small unit but can provide a powerful interfacing mechanism between the 1798 input and output modules. Also, its mounting is flexible since it can be directly connected to the machines. Because this unit is compatible with the DeviceNet protocol, it can also connect with the networks and computers for the configuration and programming using industrial applications.
