Part number 193-EC5ZZ is an E3 plus overload relay designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation to provide overload protection to devices using measurement of true RMS current values of each phase current of the connected motor. Incorporated with six 24 VDC inputs, two Outputs, and DeviceLogix communication protocol and voltage monitoring, the E3 plus overload relay allows the gathering of earth fault data over the network. It offers two FLA settings for two-speed motor protection, incorporates zero-sequence sensing through the inherent 90 A rating for low-level earth fault detection, and offers adjustable trip and warning settings between 20 mA and 5 A. For devices rated above 90, A, as well as earth faults detection below 1 A, the external core balance current transformer accessory is necessary. Additionally, this overload relay model provides over-temperature protection to electric motors with accessories for terminating and monitoring the positive temperature coefficient thermistors embedded in the winding of the motor’s stator.
