Part number 440G-MT47042 is a guard locking switch that was designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. It features a high bolting pressure solenoid interlock in a red metal contact switch. The 440G-MT47042 safety switch features a power-to-release internal solenoid used on machine safety barriers to keep them securely locked while in operation and unlocked while energized by a power supply to release it. To reduce risks of injury to operators, machines like turning machines, industrial CNCs, or other machinery that have dangerous operations in motion and do not stop immediately when power is switched off require these heavy-duty safety switches. To provide such level of protection to operators and ensure smooth processes, this guard locking switch exerts a holding force of 1500 Newtons on the safety barriers of industrial machines and may have up to 1600 Newtons maximum holding force. However, to cater for diagnostic feedback and emergency access, the lock features LEDs and manual solenoid override.

The 440G-MT47042, a metallic bolting pressure contact switch, has a 12-pin M23 conduit entry, a solenoid voltage rating of 24 volts AC/DC for operations, operating temperature range of -25 to 60 degrees Celsius, fully-flex actuator, and break-before-make action auxiliary contacts with a configuration of three (3) normally closed (NC) contacts and one (1) normally open (NO) contact. Also, this device is housed in red, die-cast alloy enclosure with an IP20, NEMA/UL Type 1 IP rating. This makes the guard locking switch touchproof; with resistance to dusts and objects whose sizes are over 12 millimeters. However, it will become susceptible to damage upon exposure to liquid.
