The microprocessor-based multi-function solid-state electronic overload relay 592-EC2AC by Allen-Bradley has a current rating of 18 to 90 Amperes and a contactor size of 2. It protects squirrel-cage induction motors from power supply anomalies such as overload, phase loss, ground fault, stall, jam, underload, current imbalance, communication fault or idle, remote trip, blocked start or start inhibit, under or over voltage, voltage unbalance, phase rotation, under or over frequency, under or over real, reactive or apparent power, under or over power factor lagging, and power value overflow. The factory settings are for a three-phase motor and can be switched to single-phase if required. The relay is rated for an insulation voltage of 690 Volts of alternating current and a frequency of 20 to 250 Hertz. It has a DeviceNet connector and requires a power supply of 24 Volts of direct current with an operating range of 11 to 25 Volts of direct current. The maximum surge current allowable at power up is 3 Amperes. The maximum power consumption rate is 3.2 Watts and power interruption is allowable for up to 1 millisecond at 11 Volts DC and 10 milliseconds at 25 Volts DC. The thermal current rating is 5 Amperes and output insulation voltage is 300 Volts AC; operating voltage is 240 Volts AC. The minimum operating current is 10 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC. The trip relay is rated for up to one million operations. The communication baud rate ranges from 125k to 500k and it has auto baud rate identification, polled I/O messaging, change of state messaging, cyclic messaging, and full parameter object support.
