The 825-PR12D is an external RTD scanner that was designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation for providing temperature warnings, as well as trips, by the use of its RTD temperature measurements together with trip and warning temperature settings for motor thermal overload protection. Each RTD has separate trip and warning settings. This thermal metering module reports the states of connected RTDs in the event of failure. Its input status messages display “open” when the RTD leads are open, “Short” when RTD leads are shorted, “Comm Fail” when this module to fiber-optic communication module has failed, and “Stat Fail” in the event of the 825-PR12D’s self-test status failure. The 825-P relay that this RTD scanner is attached to displays RTD percent thermal capacity, and has different RTD settings, such as RTD enable, RTD reset mode, RTD location, RTD type, RTD trip level, RTD ward level, winding trip voting, bearing trip voting, and temperature RTD biasing.
