The 842E-CM-MIP3BA is an Ethernet/IP encoders CIP interface that is IEEE 1588 compatible. This Ethernet/IP 842E module has a multi-turn interface, solid shaft 3/8" with flat capability, 10 - 30 volts power source, M12 Connection, 30-bit steps per revolution, and MIP2BA. It supports Ethernet topologies such as linear, ring, and star and is housed in an IP67-rated enclosure. The ultra-high resolution Ethernet/IP absolute encoders of the 842E series include dual-port Ethernet and M12 interfaces. The encoders of the 842E series are intended for great performance and dependability in severe industrial applications.

Allen-Bradley's 842E series ultra-high-resolution Ethernet/IP absolute encoders include dual-port Ethernet and M12 terminals, making them ideal for industrial applications. It is designed for great performance and dependability in tough industrial situations. These encoders offer an internal Ethernet/IP switch that allows users to link more Ethernet/IP enabled devices in series, and/or may feature a Device Level Ring (DLR) for durability in Ethernet-based communications networks, among other features. It includes simple IP addressing, as well as the Ethernet/IP Interface, which is consistent with IEEE 1588 standards. Ethernet topologies like a linear, ring, and star are supported by each other.
It is possible to purchase single-turn 18-bit resolution absolute encoders or multi-turn 30-bit resolution absolute encoders for use with Ethernet/IP. These extremely high encoders are suited for automotive, material handling, and general industrial automation applications. The Ethernet/IP encoder is designed for use in severe industrial situations where great performance and durability are required. Additionally, the encoder has an inbuilt Ethernet/IP switch that allows it to link other E/IP-capable products in series and/or enable a Device Level Ring (DLR) for redundant Ethernet media.
It is available in protection classes up to IP67, as well as solid and blind hollow shaft configurations. This device also meets the requirements of the CCC, CE, KC, and RCM standards. Furthermore, this encoder device is powered by a voltage source that ranges from zero (0) to ten (10) volts. Also included with this encoder is an Ethernet/IP interface, which allows for motion control to be performed in sync with the current time.
