The Allen Bradley 845H-SJDZ13CMY1C is an optical incremental encoder whose mechanism of operation is by transforming the shaft’s angular position into digital signals with the aid of an optical disk. The number of pulses given off is dependent on the number of revolutions of the shafts. The resolution rating is given as 500 pulses per revolution, and it has an axial connector at the end as a type of connection. It operates under a power supply of 5 volts direct current (DC) with plus or minus 5 percent at a maximum current of 150 milliamperes. The mounting option is a square flange. The response of the frequency is given as 210 kilohertz. It has an NPN current sink as the output drive whose rating is 20 milliamperes. 

The torque required to start the device and run it is given as 2.5 Newton-centimeters (N-cm) with the speed of the slew being 6000 revolutions per minute (rpm). The size of the shaft for this optical incremental encoder is given as 3/8 inches in diameter. This device is housed in a NEMA type 4 and 13 enclosure with an Ingress Protection rating of IP66. This encoder should be operated in an environment where the temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Also, it should be stored in an environment where the temperature ranges from -25 to 90 degrees Celsius. The humidity should be 98% with no condensation. It can withstand a shock rated up to 50 G for an 11-second duration. It can also withstand a vibration rated up to 20 G at a frequency of 4 to 2000 hertz.
