The Allen-Bradley 872C-N12NP18-D4 is a WorldProx inductive proximity sensor. It has a rated voltage of 10 to 30 volts DC and current of 0.3 amperes. The 872C series sensor has a 3-wire configuration. It has a switching frequency of ≤1500 hertz and leakage current of ≤10 µA. The cylindrical sensor is made of nickel-plated brass material and has a barrel diameter of 18 mm. It is capable of sensing objects at a distance of 12 mm (0.47 inches). The sensor is characterized by its extended range and standard barrel with tubular unshielded casing. Its output is designed to be normally open (N.O) source (PNP) with a 4-pin micro quick-disconnect (DC) connector.

The sensor has an enclosure rating of IP67 and is designed to be compact and convenient with a net weight of 0.05 kg. The sensor can operate within a temperature range of -25 to +70 °C (-13 to +158 °F). It is designed to withstand shock of up to 30 G for 11 milliseconds half-sine and vibrations of 55 Hz with 1 mm amplitude in 3 planes. The inductive proximity sensors are built for diverse applications including positioning of elevator cars. It offers increased accuracy and longer durability compared to typical mechanical switches. Additionally, it is a cost-effective solution and allows lowered repair costs and reduced downtime. The sensor is equipped with protection mechanisms to prevent false pulse on power, reverse polarity, transient noise, short circuit, and circuit overload. The sensor is c-UL-us Listed and CE certified for all applicable directives.
