The Allen-Bradley 889D-F4AC-10 is an unshielded, yellow-colored PVC cable. This cable has four pins. The pin layout at the female end is pin-out, while the pin layout at the male point is flying lead color codes. It has a female straight connection and a female end termination that is DC micro (M12). Furthermore, its male connection type has no connector. This wire has a size of 22 AWG.

The 889D-F4AC-10 cable has a one-piece molded body and a ratcheting coupler nut for improved vibration resistance. It also contains a 12-pin/11-conductor on a 19-pin connection for passive distributing and other operations, as well as metal brass and nickel-made coupler nuts on Pico connectors (M8). This cable also includes patching connectors and a wire with an inserted connector on each end (one male, one female). It contains epoxy-coated zinc connecting nuts for further durability. It has a NEMA 4 enclosure type rating, 6P, 12, 13, and an IP67 ingress protection rating. It has a temperature range of -20 to +105 °C (-4 to +221 °F).

It boasts 14mm resolution (finger detection), DIP switch selectable modes of operation placed under a security door in the end caps, and features such as fixed blanking, floating blanking, beam coding start/stop interlock, external device monitoring (EDM), two (2) solid-state safety outputs, and one (1) non-safety auxiliary output.
