The 1606-XLP36C is a single-phase power supply used in a parallel operation mode. At 120 volts alternating current, the 1606-XLP36C operates with steady-state input current ratings of 0.65 amperes. On the other hand, at 230 volts alternating current, it requires 0.4 amperes of power. When this module is supplied with an input voltage of 100-240 volts alternating current its power is rated at 36 watts. This module can be deployed for a wide range of industrial applications. It is designed to operate on IT networks.

One of its advantages functions is that it can provide buffering load current for standard fault conditions and during peak loads. Another advantage is that it can be set up and installed easily since no tool is required for its mounting as it sits safely and firmly on the rail. Its spring clamp helps in quick installation. The unit output voltage can be adjustable with and without a jumper at 15 volts alternating current and 12 volts alternating current respectively. At overload switch-offs and short circuits are not necessary. This module should not be installed at an altitude greater than 2000 meters. Additionally, the green light-emitting diode (LED) shows the operation of the unit how this module operates. This module requires no switch-off at short circuit thus no oversizing when starting awkward loads and if fuses are tripped the unit is likely to deliver hazardous voltage.
