The Allen-Bradley manufactured 4100-234 is a compact motion controller designed for electronic gearing and CAM systems for axis synchronization and coordination. It comes with a stand-alone platform and is characterized by 4 controlled Axis (Axis 0,1,2,3) with axis link option. The motion controller has an input power requirement of 90 to 132 volts or 175 to 264 volts AC at a frequency range of 47 to 63 hertz. This device has a maximum current rating of 3 amperes. It has an I/O power input of 5 to 40 volts DC, as well as a 24 volts DC nominal voltage at a maximum current of 3 amperes.

The 4100-234 compact motion controller has an application storage of write lockable battery-backed RAM with a minimum battery life of 10 years. The motion controller is programmed using GML and uses the RS-232C port for communication. The controller is equipped with 4 analog servo outputs with output voltage range of ±10 volts DC or ±150 milliamperes minimum and a resolution of 16 bits, as well as a 220-ohm output voltage resistance. The motion controller is also equipped with 4 optically isolated encoder inputs at 4 MHz maximum frequency, a 7 kilo-ohm axis impedance, and a rated voltage of 5 or 12 volts DC at 1 amperes. The compact motion controller can be operated and stored adequately within a temperature range of 0 to +50 °C (-32 to +122 °F) and -40 to +70 °C (-40 to +158 °F), respectively. This device has physical dimensions of 342.9 mm x 263.6 mm x 155.7 mm (13.5 inches x 10.38 inches x 6.13 inches) and weighs approximately 7.7 kilograms (16.90 pounds).
