The 1204-TFA1 from Allen-Bradley is an extremely useful product. It is a member of the 1204 terminator family. It finds use with AC frequency drives and provides protection to the motor. It essentially reduces destructive reflected wave spikes caused by longer motor leads. The product contains a terminator device along with a three (3) meter wire. That is standard 4 wire 3 mm² connection cable. The input power for this terminator option is 380 to 600 volts AC. The maximum drive carrier frequency is 6 kHz. The ambient temperature is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity of the surrounding area should remain between 5 to 95% and be non-condensing. This module has an IP65 NEMA Type 4x enclosure. The hazardous environment rating for 1204-TFA1 is T3 (200 °C) (Groups A, B, C, D). The module meets all given standards and is UL and CUL certified. This device begins to derate at an altitude of 1000 meters and continuous as the altitude gets higher. Installation of the terminator option should be performed using Class I Division 2 wiring methods. Only trained professionals should perform the installation when the power is completely shut. Components should not be substituted during the installation. Doing so may result in a serious problem. During the wiring process or replacing, the power of the module should be turned off. Components should not be disconnected when the power is turned on. The terminator should be mounted on a metal surface as per guidelines. Significant space should be left on all sides of the module for proper ventilation. The module should be properly grounded according to the instructions given.
