This device is designed specifically for use in 1756 ControlLogix I/O rack systems. It features 8 configured channels for voltage, current, thermocouple RTD, and resistance. The removal and insertion under the power feature allow the removal and insertion of modules while applying the chassis power. Another feature known as consumer communications involves exchanging of data between modules and the other system devices in the sense that individual module produces data without being polled.
Alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) is supported by this module. Each pair must be configured with the same input type. The terminal block provides eight (8) input channels this terminal block is removable. It has several hardware features: side label, removable terminal block, door label, self-locking tabs, terminal blocking switch, SYS LED, and OK LED. The module's communication and fault status are displayed by OK LED while the fault condition is displayed by SYS LED.
The terminal block switch locks the RTB to the module and the door label permits easy terminal identification. The side label provides module information, and the removable terminal block provides electrical connection input devices. The light-emitting diode (LED) in the module helps identify the source of problems that are likely to occur during the power-up and normal operation. The backplane interface enables communication between the ControlLogix box and the module.
During the checking module internal circuit and the functions, the SYS LED remains on. The SYS LED switches off when no fault is established. It is important to wait for a connection to the owner controller when the power check is completed.
