The Allen-Bradley 1791ES-IB8XOBV4 is an electronic module that is connected to Ethernet I/P in order to provide safe operation of other modules and devices. With the development of industrial distributed systems, we have many requests to enable safety work of all modules and drives connected to the network. That will not only enable secure and safe personal work with machines but also enable better monitoring, control and remote preventive and corrective maintenance. That is the reason of making separate modules that will do that job, the devices that will be responsible for that. The 1791ES-IB8XOBV4 has current sinking safety inputs, separate Pulse test outputs, dual channel bipolar current sourcing outputs which has available 0.7 amps per output and one Ethernet I/P port. In other words, it is a compact block safety I/O module with solid state outputs and has 8 safety inputs, 8 test outputs, and 8 bipolar outputs – solid state. So many large number of I/O points is normal for it as there are usually many of that points on the field that should be controlled and monitored. The Guard I/O modules implements the CIP safety protocol and also its extension over Ethernet I/P network and provide various features for a safety system. The on-state input minimum is 11 volts DC (direct current) at a current of 3.3 milliamperes. The off-state input maximum, however, is 5 volts DC at a current of 1.3 milliamperes. This product has an operating temperature range that should remain between negative twenty and positive sixty degrees Celsius (-20 and +60 °C), or the equivalent of -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
