Manufactured by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation, product number 42MRU-5000 is a Photoswitch series 5000 modular photoelectric sensor component. Photoswitch series 5000 modular photoelectric sensors are made up of two (2) main components. These components include the photohead and the power base. Product number 42MRU-5000 is a photohead. The purpose of the photohead is to house most of the electronics. This component may be quickly removed from the power base via the turning of a screw. This photoelectric sensor component has a response time of 1 millisecond, plus the response time of the connectedmodule. 

The Allen Bradley 42MRU-5000 Photoswitch series 5000 modular photoelectric sensor photohead was designed to be used with a retroreflective sensor. These sensors have a sensing distance of 10 meters, or 33 feet. These sensors also have a 2.5-degree field of view. Additionally, this photohead was designed to be used with a power base that has an operating voltage of 120 volts AC, with a supply voltage rated at 102 to 132 volts AC. The power consumption rating of the compatible power base is 2 volt-amperes. This Photoswitch series 5000 modular photoelectric sensor photohead should be operated in an environment where the temperature ranges from -40 degrees Celsius to +65 degrees Celsius, or the equivalent temperature range of -40 degrees Fahrenheit to +150 degrees Fahrenheit. The relative humidity should have a maximum level of ninety (90) percent. The 42MRU-5000 photohead is capable of withstanding a shock rated up to 30 G. It can also withstand a vibration with a frequency range of 10 to 55 hertz with a 1-millimeter amplitude.
