The DVT 550M is a vision sensor camera with a Tamron 32821 lens. The camera is manufactured by Cognex. The camera is commonly used with industrial automation devices for reading objects, capturing readings, and detecting defects. It also includes an Ethernet port for connecting with a computer or a network. DVT550M camera is powered by a 24 Volts DC power source that is supplied by an isolated breakout board. The current rating of the camera is 1.25 Amperes. The image sensor cable is connected to the RS-232 port and the cable runs from the breakout board to the camera sensor. The LED blinks when the camera is connected to the power. The Result LED of the device will illuminate while the sensor is working. The resolution of the sensor camera is 640 pixels x 480 pixels and has an acquisition rate of 75 frames per second. The storage capacity of the camera is 16 Megabytes that stores the firmware and all the camera tasks.

To connect the DVT 550M camera with a personal computer, DVT intellect software is required on the Windows operating system. An IP address is assigned to the camera sensor when connected to a computer. It has a 6x higher processing speed as compared to other cameras from various countries. The lens can be easily replaced with other lenses depending on the requirements. The camera sensor includes a DSP chip for high-speed operations. As the device is highly sensitive, it needs to be handled with care. The camera can be easily mounted using threaded holes on the back. It should be operated only in the temperature range of zero (0) to 45 degrees Celsius.

If an item is found to be defective through normal use and wear after 30 days but within the 1 year period, the Automation Stop Warranty dictates the appropriate course of action. After the 30 day period, Automation Stop reserves the right to decide between refund, repair, or replacement with identical product.
